I watched the latest Twice Date series. The first one was Nayeon and Mina on what was called their Sushi Date. They mostly talked about the food, but they were very comfortable with each other. Mina recalled the time Nayeon showed up at her Misamo showcase in Japan and how much she appreciated that. After the ‘date’ they went to a special photo booth session called Public Not Public and had their photos taken in various mocked-up public places, like trains and elevators. It was a fun idea, with the two mugging for the cameras, and Nayeon particularly making some suggestive poses with Mina. In the elevator she lunged at Mina making it look like she was making an aggressive sexual advance. I suppose it was all a publicity stunt for this Public Not Public company with the usual promotional kickbacks. They’re probably paying for this series.
Afterwards, I was checking out Twitter/X and someone called Sana In Rollin put up a photo from the shoot that showed what looked like Nayeon going down on Mina in the train. Check the photo. I missed that in my initial viewing of the show. The replies were pretty funny, especially one that simply said ‘sushi date’. This naughty stuff almost never happens in Twice World, where almost everything they do is ‘above board’. Their songs aren’t even especially risque, with no profanity – unlike a lot of other Kpop artists. Well, there was that line in Moonlight Sunrise that sounded like ‘I need your cock right now’ (it was intended to be ‘I need you o’clock right now’). They’re good girls. Really.
Watched TwiceDate 4 on Youtube. This time it was Dahyun and Chaeyoung – AKA Dubchaeng. They were having a movie date, watching mostly JYP artist clips on a big screen in a comfy room with lots of snacks. It was very laidback. It started, of course, with a viewing of their Dubchaeng Melody Project Switch To Me. Both remarked how young they looked, even though it was only three years ago. I thought they would have a laugh about the time during the making of the clip Chae poked Dahyun’s nose with a phone aerial, but they didn’t. It was funny watching them watch Dahyun’s old ‘eagle dance’ clip in the church. It is pretty batshit crazy. Dahyun revealed it was not how she got noticed by JYP. It was just something that went viral after she got picked for the show Sixteen that created Twice. Chaeyoung showed the clip for her Melody Project of Off My Face, the Justin Bieber song, mentioning some fan had done a video putting her together with him. I would have liked her to play the clip for Weatherman, which is one of my absolute faves. I wanted to hear her comments about it, but it was not to be. The clips stayed within the Twice/Solo remit and it’s a pity they didn’t go beyond that. I guess because they were on my mind from the concert, it would’ve been nice if they’d played some Nmixx. I imagine Chaeyoung finally expressing some love for their junior group in JYP. Because famously (to me, at least), she gave it all to NewJeans at the time when both groups debuted. Near the end Chae actually laid back on the couch and looked like she was ready to doze off. Maybe they were too laidback.
I watched the new Twice Date ep featuring Jihyo and Sana at a massage centre. It’s pretty chill with them mainly talking comfortably whilst being pampered. Jihyo mentioned the awkward date she had with Momo, trying to explain why it was so awkward. It made me want to re-watch that episode as I’d forgotten it being awkward.
I watched the latest Twice Date ep on Youtube. This one was Momo and Tzuyu with their dogs at a ‘dog farm’. Between the women and the dogs it was a cuteness overload. They were very comfortable with each other, which is not always the case with Momo. And Tzuyu can be a bit reticent, but not here. The fact that both are dog lovers and had their dogs with them helped a lot. Tzuyu’s little light coloured dog is called Butter, which is the cutest thing, especially when she calls her that. This was a nice soothing laidback time.
The latest 2wiceDate ep featured Nayeon and Jeongyeon, the group’s two oldest members, doing a fun driving lesson. Jeongyeon, who has her license and drives well, was training Nayeon, who doesn’t. The lesson was given further drama by occurring on a rainy day. Jeongy displayed the patience of a saint, playing her role with humour and good sense, whilst Nabong proved herself a quick learner. The camera coverage for this was insane, with a bank of cameras on the dash, plus cams in a lead car and a rear car as part of a convoy. Safety was clearly a priority, and there was never any real sense of danger; even so, I felt a little apprehensive for my Twice unnies. Some of the comments were funny, with many Onces wondering what this would’ve looked like with (the famously impatient and stern) Jihyo as the trainer.
