Watched the first ep of the new Time To Twice series TTT Again, which is a return to the format of the first one they did, four years ago. I can’t believe it’s been four years already. The girls seem a little older and wiser, maybe even a little jaded about the concept. Not sure. They’re using the same team names they came up with first time around: namely, Smarties, Aliens, etc. It was lots of nostalgic, wholesome happiness.
I watched the second ep of Twice’s latest Time To Twice series. I like how this series brings out their goofiness. It’s something that amazes us Onces when we’ve seen how cool and professional they are up on the stage at their concerts – we get to see a different side of them. But this is true of pretty much all Kpop reality tv shows that feature Idols. They’re designed to bring out different aspects of their personalities. There’s a part in this episode where the members are required to split up from their teams that I didn’t really get, but it afforded us the priceless shot of my girl Mina looking very pouty when Jeongyeon left her team.
I watched ep 3 of new TTT. Jeongyeon aces the questionnaire. They all play at being asleep in that bed-throw contest, with Mina doing the best imitation. Jihyo’s competitiveness boils over into sour grapes. Nayeon seems to want out of her team with Sana and Momo. This series seems to be more heavily edited than usual. The sing-around section was barely there. I like how they have the air-buds prize dangling temptingly from the ceiling, like the cash in Squid Game. At this point it seems like some of the members will, like in SG, kill each other for them!
I watched the fourth and final ep of Twice’s latest Time To Twice Again series. This was a lot of fun especially as a fan of Mina, because her team won and she was the star. There was a fun segment where the members had to try to punch through a layer of tiles and Mina aced it with one smooth downward punch. Watching on, Chaeyoung exhorted her to yell in Japanese ‘I’m gonna break it’, like an anime ninja, and she did. It was very cool and has become something of a meme for Onces on social media. But during the archery competition Mina sent one of her arrows landing near the centre of the bullseye – only problem was, it was the wrong target, it belonged to Smarties team. So, admittedly, it wasn’t all perfect, but made for another funny memorable moment. Earlier Mina had drawn with Jeongyeon on the jelly slap competition, both of them concentrating so hard as each quickly touched or lifted the lid that protected the jelly, and not one mistake made. Actually, Jeongyeon also smashed all her tiles, too. As did Momo, but she kind of cheated by leaning on the ones she missed and breaking them that way. It was funny how most of the other members got up and yelled foul. Momo was actually a bit of a klutz during the entire series and was generally considered the liability of any team she was on. This has been a theme with poor Momo during these shows. Great dancer, but not a great athlete or gamer. I really enjoyed this wholesome fun.
