What’s My Line, by Will Greeves

I had just watched the two-part Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes What’s My Line, and got up and played a riff on my guitar. I liked it enough to record it on my four track, and called it What’s My Line for convenience. So it’s no coincidence that later I put that riff together with some dialogue from that episode, along with a ‘bed’ of guitar feedback and sound effects. I’m including the dialogue, by writer Marti Noxon, here (one of her best scripts). There’s a funny commentary track of that episode where Marti relates the story about the dodgy voice coach they hired to help the actress playing new slayer Kendra with her Jamaican accent. In the show it’s very wobbly, and Kendra didn’t really make an impact, so later her character was killed off. I guess Joss Whedon was just warming up for future slayer, Faith.
